after Suzuki asked for a trade. And though he hit .322 in 227 at-bats for the team that season,
he was terrible in 2013 -- just after the Yankees signed him to a two-year, $12-million deal.
At the moment, it would appear the Yankees would prefer to trade him and eat a portion of the
salary he's due in 2014, since the signings of Carlos Beltran and Jacoby Ellsbury pushed him farther from a regular role.
